WHAT TO DO

Red Sox Game

You can't claim to have experienced real Boston culture, until you've watched a Red Sox game from the bleachers. Fenway Park is home to the Red Sox, the city's American League (AL) team. Opened in 1912, it is the oldest stadium in Major League Baseball and one of its most famous. The prominent feature today at Fenway Park remains the Green Monster, a 37 foot high wall in left field.

Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum

This Boston jewel (built in 1898) is designed after a fifteenth century Venetian palazzo with three floors of galleries surrounding a courtyard garden and covered by a glass roof. Reflecting the museums collections of European, Asian, and American paintings, sculptures and decorative arts, the courtyard incorporates numerous architectural fragments spanning several centuries of art.

PLACES TO VISIT

The Green Monsta!

The Green Monster, so named for its color and size, came into being because of the shape of the lot Fenway Park was built on in 1912. The distance to the left field fence is a relatively short 315 feet. To compensate, the green monster was put in the way of any ball trying to get out of the park.

Dorchester Brewing Co.

Dorchester Brewing Co. is a partner brewing facility with a public Tap Room serving partner and in-house brews on tap in Boston. DBco was created by a team of local professionals with an unnatural love of craft beer, to meet production demands for the local craft beer industry while supporting the economic development of Dorchester.

The North End

This Italian neighborhood, Boston's oldest, is known for its wonderful restaurants and historic sights. Walk the cobblestone streets to take in the architecture and aromas of delicious food, and visit Paul Revere's house and the Old North Church while you're in the neighborhood. And if you'd like to try the best cannolis in town - go visit Mike's Pastries!

WHERE TO EAT

Molinari's

Our go to Italian that we undoubtedly cannot recommend enough. The wood-fired brick oven is always ablaze at this rustic, two dozen–seat pizzeria in Dorchester, where pies topped with veggies, shrimp and charcuterie meats are accompanied by a casual array of old world–style Italian staples like housemade pastas and meatball sandwiches.

Neptune Oyster

How far are you willing to go for a great lobster roll experience? Neptune, a North End oyster bar that’s probably Boston’s best-known restaurant, is mostly a collection of terrible things: long lines, cramped quarters, loud noise, slow service, tourists, and a wallet-draining menu. But, it also has one more thing that’s hard to resist: really, really great food.

Eventide

A revival of the great American oyster bar, Maine’s Eventide Oyster Co.’s famed Brown Butter Lobster Roll is a James Beard Award-winning take on the classic New England fare. Succulent lobster meat is doused in nutty brown butter and is served in a soft and fluffy steamed bun. Traditional? No. Mindbogglingly delicious? Undoubtedly. And our favorite Lobster Roll in town!
